Our 3rd Fripp Trip ;-)

Returned from another wonderful trip to Fripp Island with what we now call ourselves - The Fab Four! We have been together through times of trouble and lots of happy times too, so when we get together - there is never a dull or quiet moment!! Some of our highlights from this trip included seeing the Lt. Dan Band - or Gary Sinese and his band to raise money for the Wounded Warriors. It was such an emotional time for us witnessing these brave warriors who were severely wounded overseas. I thank God for them and Gary Sinese for all the time they devote to making sure these soldiers have the things they need just to survive from day to day.

The warriors were right in front of the stage. Gary Sinese and lead guitarist, another veteran from the Viet Nam war on stage.

Also - maybe the best for me anyways, was seeing the little Loggerhead Turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean with a little help from the volunteers on Fripp. Again a very emotional time for us all. They have quite a challenge ahead of them to make it to the Gulf before they finally rest and begin eating. What a long trek! Also we got see where a mother alligator was with her babies but we weren't quite so brave getting out to see them. We just took their word for it!

Always, we enjoy seeing our friends, the dolphins, from our back deck of our cottage. Their playful antics bring a smile as I think about them right now!  One day we saw 6-8 dolphins in a pod at low tide.

We made our way to Beaufort over and over and on one excursion we decided to take a carriage ride around the city. Indeed it is full of history and the houses boast such beautiful architecture that many films have been made here. One of the oldest cities in South Carolina.

This time Gayla got us a golf cart to haul all of us around and we truly enjoyed this mode of transportation as does most of the inhabitants of Fripp.  On one of our joy rides we ended up at the Nature Center where I got to hold a Corn Snake. I had never seen one before so it was interesting - and I also held a python. That was a little scary!

Gayla, Vic, Me, and Jackie all enjoying our day at the beach on Fripp...
Goodbye to our beautiful beach!
The turtles beginning their long journey!  I loved seeing them....

A Wild Wildcat Weekend! Go CATS!

With Shawn & Carrie and the kids here on thursday, we began to prep for the weekend by packing food, drinks, clothing, etc. for our trip. So Friday, we did our nails and toes with purple nailpolish of course and by Saturday we were ready to load up and meet Eric and the kids in Newton for lunch at Braums. Everyone was so excited - the girls had their new KSU dresses on and the rest of us adorned ourselves in Purple! Our little guy - Bear was running a high fever so Theresa stayed home with him so he could recuperate! We missed them at the game - I can only imagine Bear yelling for the Cats to Go - Go - Go! Below are some of the shots taken at the game! I don't know what parts of the game the kids liked more - but the band was awesome, they loved Willie the Wildcat, the girls loved the cheerleaders, and the boys didn't leave the game - they had to cheer on their team! The fireworks at the end of the game was awesome too! It was set to music - and it was fantastic!

After the game, we went back to the room - and we had a good night's sleep! Then off to Fredonia to see Grandpa Guy and Grandma Bernie. They were so excited to see all the kids!!

Then we went to the farm for some farm activities - like riding the tractors....

And a little baseball in the north pasture by the house!! Bernie was picking on Eric a little.... She got up and gave him a big kiss!! It was so funny....

They were excited to see us all, but I think they were ready for a little peace and quiet!  Can't understand that, can you??  The kids were really good - and we did have lots of fun. The boys and Bruce did a little house maintenance while we were there and Carrie helped me clean too! Sure had a GRAND weekend!

SUMMERTIME......

Once again, its been a while since I've blogged. Eric and Jason came for a visit with Konnor and Katie in August. The guys went to shoot some targets on Saturday so the kids stayed here and we rode horses, and of course rode the tractors, and the gator.
Cheyenne is always loved by ALL of the kids... She misses them too!
At first Bear didn't want to ride, but as you can see - that changed very quickly.

Daddy got home and got to help Buggy ride Cheyenne. And then Bear had to go for several gator rides.....
Buggy riding with Papa on the John Deere tractor. Bear decided to chase Buggy on her bike. We played inside a lot too since it was so hot but I didn't get any of that... Oh well, I try!
But we all had a great time! The next blog I'll show some of our trip to the KSU game and also to see Papa Guy! Shawn and Carrie came home for a week so we got to play with them before they start school!
