COOL Minnesota---I really miss you! Sigh.....

This year, we had our first truly entire family vacation ever! Yes, the whole group was together - all 13 of us. I began my quest in late January to find a beautiful cabin that would house all of us. Last year - our cabin experience was great but it was with just Shawn & Carrie and their K-Kids. My goal was to bring us ALL together... and Bruce and I were footing the bill! But my quest was harder since working around our schedule as well as two other families and children's activities, sports, and camps! But - I was up for the challenge! After surfing the web what seemed like for days -- I got a beautiful house/cabin on Boy Lake up by Walker, MN next to Leech Lake! As you will see, the views were spectacular, the weather - AWESOME, and the kids were great, and fishing was unbelievable! That's using a lot of adjectives for ME..... Anyway, here are just a few snaps of our wonderful stay at the cabin ---

View from the living room, or out on the deck. Not bad, huh!
The K's are out fishing on the dock... with Eric.
 Fishing off the dock..
 and the girls too..
Carrie swam a lot in preparation for her triathalon this next weekend. She ran a lot too! Up so early and she prepared tons of freezer meals for us all!
Konnor had so much fun too! He loved the water as well as fishing with Uncle Shawn. I didn't get any pictures of Shawn with his boat because it was always gone - early and late!
Kaylee and Kassidy enjoying the water by the dock too!
Our cabin from the dock area.
It wouldn't be any fun without making somemores and we all enjoyed them--
and Kolsen was in charge of these pair of toasty marshmellows.
Eric and Theresa enjoyed the outdoors too when we all weren't smacking the mosquitos. Theresa entertained the girls with some pretty amazing fingernail art! They all loved it!
A little tag football - wait, this looks like a violation!
Shawn is in on the fun as well! I can't tell who is getting tossed!
Karolyn loved the water and she loved skiing behind the boat too!
Kelton & Konnor with Shawn and Eric and some of our catch. We ended up cooking 38 absolutely delicious fish.... yum, yum!
 The catch!

Aren't they the most beautiful Grands ever?!#%
Maybe I'm a little prejudiced!

Kolsen, Kelton, Karolyn, Kaylee, Katie, Kassidy, and Konnor. All my gorgeous K's...

Pa's chilling in the garage along with Eric and
Shawn and Kassidy are having some quality time!
Thanks to my giving husband for letting us all spend such a wonderful time together in the water, fishing, skiing, grilling, cooking, eating, and even watching Duck Dynasty.
Bruce and I with the Minnesota K-kids and
 with the Mulvane K-Kids
 Eric & Theresa and family,
 Shawn & Carrie and family.
Katie & Kaylee are my modelers!
 and Papa just chillin'!

Our dock....
and a boatload of fishermen going out! I had one picture of the boat after all!
Then back to Fergus Falls where we got Abby out of doggy jail. She needed a little exercise so Shawn showed us her dock dog antics. She sure can jump off the dock and fetch her bumper on command. A lot of work went in to that training! Good job Shawn!
Konnor got to help Uncle Shawn.
and there she goes!  What a flying leap. See the bumper way out there?
Thankfully we got to see Kolsen play a baseball game. He got several good hits and had a great game pitching with 4 or 5 strike outs. Way to get those K's Buddy!
And Karolyn is quite an athlete too! She could really smack that ball as well as play a mean short stop! We are sure proud of her as well.
 Love her smile!
and last but not least - we got to go visit the new arrivals - baby chicks! Just wish the Mulvane Papon's could have seen them! What a joy! Maybe we can do it again sometime!

Last but not least, enjoy the video of
Abby - the wonder dog - or Alias Dock Dog! She sure
did entertain the kiddos as well as everyone at the lake!

Quilt Room & Garden Show

Friday night, Glenda, Susie and I headed to Pratt to go to a quilt and garden show. We were excited to see the awesome quilt rooms, quilts and gardens in the area and we were not disappointed. What a beautiful way to display such an array of quilts and some very precious heirloom quilts as well. I was a little horrified to see an antique double wedding ring displayed on the ground however. The yards were beautiful, and I can see how having a protected back yard in town is a big plus. There is nothing to break our winds out here.... but it was awesome to see!

This was an absolutely beautiful backyard and water garden including goldfish! The kids would have loved it.

Lets just say this house about left Glenda and I speechless.... bolts of fabric, a room of fat quarters, a long arm machine and a view of their lake out the back window.... LOVE!
Many flowers were thriving in our 100+ heat and wind. Kinda shocked me to see so many beautiful flowers in our climate!
We especially loved the teddy bears enjoying some time on the deck.... I thought they should be having a tea party - just would have added some tea cups.... Precious!

I haven't showed these cute deer to Bruce. I know he could make them for me!

Many beautiful water features - this is just one simple and refreshing!

In the background is this lady's quilt room - it was so handy!

And this picture I took the other morning as  I was headed to the kitchen for more coffee. It was so early and I couldn't believe the gorgeous colors and the fog on the meadow! Breathtaking.... I love it out here! You don't get views like this in town!
