Its the Great Pumpkin .....

We got to spend some very special one on one time with little Konnor last weekend. While Bruce and Eric were gone on Saturday doing a guttering job, we got to spend time upstairs doing puzzles, playing tractors, but mostly playing with the transformers that use to be Eric's. I am so glad I kept those toys! They are getting a little worse for the wear, but Konnor doesn't seem to mind.

Also, we picked up limbs using the gator... he was so excited to "drive" and went to the garden to look at the great "pumpkin"! Watched our neighbor plant some wheat too - he loved that! After Eric and Papa got back we loaded the gator with pumpkins and more pumpkins! I have shared pumpkins with friends too but I am sure we have picked more than a 100 from our small little patch. Papa had planted the giant variety but only got 2 giants this year...

He was so happy to be picking pumpkins and could reach and put them in the gator all by himself!

and finally the picture of Papa's tractor at our gate! Looks great...
Just needs a little fine tuning and off she goes!

Grieving.....

a loss of an adult is hard but grieving a loss of a baby - is heartbreaking! Today as we traveled to Emporia for our great nephew Bo's funeral, we knew it would be an extremely exhausting and trying day. The range of emotions were from uncontrollable weeping to solemn faces, empty stares to complete silence. As we were surrounded by his blankets, stuffed animals, letters from his sisters and cousins, and the movie of his short life -- you looked at the parents with grief and emptiness that has to be as large as a Big Black Hole.....

As our group of family moved from the church to the cemetery -- it was so simple, so sweet, and so special for the most amazing little boy who touched so many people's hearts - an unending love we will always hold dear! But really, the most touching part of the service was Jamie, Bo's Daddy, delivering what I consider a farewell - a tribute to his little boy! Through his tear filled eyes, Jamie talked about him being such a strong fighter, a little brother, a beautiful baby, and the respect he had for him for never giving up... The bagpipes played Amazing Grace while his sisters released a white dove from a heart shaped basket and it flew off so gracefully as it gained altitude and circled over us not once but again and again before it headed north to find its home. We were touched to our core and I will never take life of our sweet babies for granted. Parents, love your children, hold them tight, praise them often. There is no time for anger but only heartfelt love for your family - nothing is more precious in God's eyes.... they are his gift to us!

Jamie and Melanie will never hold their baby boy again -- but for a short time, they experienced his loving heart... God Bless your sweet heart Bo...

Cutie pie Cousins!

We had such a special week with Kassidy that we decided we should ask Katie to come play with her cousin for a little girl time. Since we went to Kelton's soccer game on Saturday, it was perfect to pick up Katie. After a little play time with the kids and Theresa fixed soup, we loaded up the girls and headed to the farm. I of course didn't get a lot of pictures - cause we were just too busy- but here are a few of the goings on!

Had to go pick some pumpkins in the pumpkin patch - DeeDee tripped and injured her finger but thankfully, we had the hot tub to the rescue to make the booboo better!

Fun in the hot tub with papa
After the hot tub we enjoyed our popcorn and boy do they love popcorn! They kept swiping our popcorn. LOL

The next morning we went outside to do chores after breakfast. Then the girls enjoyed a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows...

I love this picture of the girls after I fixed their hair..... they both wanted braids cause its their favorite... What a great time! Seems like it went by way too fast and I think they will remember giggling and having a lot of fun in the sand box as well as riding the bikes in the shop and feeding Pepper and the horses. I could go on and on! God is Good! Thank you Lord for these precious girls!

Minnesota in a Minute~

If I say this stop to Minnesota was a quick one, that would be an understatement.... but at least we got to see everybody and visit the kids at their activities. Didn't get to see Kolsen run in his cross-country practice cause he was having some breathing issues but there are plenty of other pictures of all they were doing. The activities include dancing, horse riding, speech, duck hunting and I'm sure I left out something... mind you this is only on Monday and Tuesday = we left early on Wednesday!

And then Kassidy got to come home with us in the Skylane, we were a little worried but she really loved seeing the houses get smaller and the cows look like ants!

It didn't hurt having the ipad either... LOL!
And, she loves all the animals and they love her back!

This was a really quick blog - so much to do in so little time! Until next time.....
