Wild, wild weekend!

We've sure been getting our share of rain lately. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the moisture. I think we've had 8 inches in like 2 weeks. Our pond is now full and the frogs are all croaking!! Boy are they loud.... Pray we continue to get rain all through the year!! But we take it as we get it!! Also, we've been so busy with the roofing company, new bids, collecting $$$$ , delivering materials!! and on and on!! Whew!! We need a break! Was going to head north this weekend, but Shawn said they were all sick, so we'll stay put and maybe can head that way for the 4th of July. Our airplane is not done with its annual either, so its okay.

As I took this picture of Papa below, he commented he would regret having Katie's tutu on his head!! However she thought it was hilarious!! Eric brought Buggy home so I got to watch her while Papa and Eric worked on Artie -time for the annual again. They got it done - then we went to Alva to eat at the mexican restaurant. Was good as always.. Below is a bunch of pictures of our weekend, but we sure did miss Moose and little Moose and Mommy. Hope to see everyone soon :)

Yep, this is YOUR Papa!
Buggy giving Daddy a flower she picked!!

Tops I got for all the girls at Bass Pro Shop - can't wait to see them all with them on!
Giving Trudy some pellets - Buggy didn't like it when she stuck her head in the window!!

Buggy checking out the apples! She was really wanting to eat one!

She didn't like Papa setting her down in the dirt. Got her toes all dirty :) We went in the house and gave them a good washing!

Tellin' stories....

Bruce found these snakes by our washhouse. Never saw this before except on National Geographic!! Weird huh! Not even sure what type of snakes they are - except LONG!!

The video is Buggy riding her stick horse. Was so FUNNY!!

The Game with the White Sox.

The John Deere tractors at the farm.

Grandpa and Bernie - Jo took this when we went over to see how they were.

Aviation Workshop

Last friday, Bruce and I headed to Kansas City for an EAA aviation seminar on sheet metal. But first, Bruce had to fly the 182 to Bevan Rabell where Eric works so he could do an annual on our plane. After I picked him up in our Expedition, we headed on to Kansas City. But first we gave Bruce's sister,Jo a call and met in Emporia for meal and a visit. Was great as always seeing her. Luv that girl!! On to KC !! It was such a beautiful day, we decided to go ahead and go to the KC Royals game. It was Girls Night Out so I got a cool t-shirt and to top it off they had a wonderful fireworks show after the game. Oh yea, The Royals won too.... No wind, 70 degrees - a perfect night.

The next day, I took Bruce to his workshop at 7:30 a.m. and then I went to Quilters Station, a great quilt shop!! I was there from 9:30 to 12:30 and came out with too much fabric.... Wait - is there such a thing as too much fabric!! It was a rainy and actually pouring, so I went shopping at the Bass Pro Shop and found some cute tops for the girls!! I should have taken a picture to put on my blog, but I forgot, Oh well, trust me - they are really cute!! I was so tired from shopping, I went back to the room and took a nap for 30 minutes until the maid came to the door to clean the room. So I got up and left to pick up Bruce... He did some really cool stuff at his workshop and learned to use lots of expensive tools. I'm sure we'll be purchasing some of them!! :) We decided to not go to the Royals game since it was cold and rainy, so we looked for a place downtown at the plaza. Decided it was too astute for us - so we went to Cracker Barrel. The Plaza had beautiful fountains and statues and I wanted to go to the Art Museum there but ran out of time. Maybe next time, I'll do that!! We had a lot of fun!!

Mission Accomplished!!

It's been in the planning stages for a while, but the first weekend in May was designated for workday for putting up the Kansas K-Kids playset! It looked like a daunting task, but as Kelton said - it's only 43 steps, and he kept tabs on everyone of them!! Bruce and I left the house on saturday around 7 a.m. and ended up in Mulvane around 9:30 a.m. with some lumber for the structure. Eric had already purchased the other stuff online. Anyway, I helped a little - but mostly played with Katie, Kelton, and Konnor. I don't know how Theresa managed to stay out of my camera lens, but she did. She really was there.... There is always lots of things to do, but it was fun watching the whole structure come together. Konnor is growing so fast!! He really got to laughing for me and enjoys talking to you and has such a beautiful grin...... Of course I'm not prejudiced....

Konnor watching the camera....

Nana and Katie enjoying the new playset!

Kelton got to help Papa too!

Eric about to finish up for the day. Kept thinking it was going to rain!! Had a few sprinkles show up though!!

Reading the plans!!

Katie got in on the action too!

Kelton, Eric and Papa working hard!!

I had went outside with some things to put in my compost pile and was greeted by such a beautiful sunset! God IS the most perfect painter ever!!

My clematis is just gorgeous right now! I do NOT know how it has withstood all our hurricane winds!! It's a miracle....
