This storm was a doozy! We had 50 mph winds, horizontal snow, 5-6' drifts, no power, no phones - cell or home line, no internet and water was getting low! However, we DO have a generator - thank the Lord!! So we have been warm and toasty in the house but today was indeed a challenge when you step foot outside the door.
The weather service said we had another 12" of snow and my sore muscles and Bruce's will attest to it! Previously we had 18" ~ yes for incredible 30" in less than a week! Today, Bruce has moved snow around all day using the tractors and the skidsteer. But much of it by the house and around the shop required good old fashioned "muscle"... So if you needed a workout - this was the place to be! Thanks honey for all your hard work today.... what a job! Grandpa just called and he said he had 4-5" of snow and he never saw it so wet! Plastered all over the buildings...
These pictures were mostly of this morning around 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. and I didn't get any of the snowdrift except on my phone! You'll have to take my word for it!
That's all for now.... Now for some sunshine to get this melted off and some runoff in the ponds! Beautiful moisture for sure!

Winter Storm ~ Round 1 ~ Bracing for #2
Winter did make an appearance last Wednesday with the first major snowstorm we've seen in a while. The first wave brought about 8" of snow followed by a short break to dig out and then another 8"-10" fell making it very hard to feed cattle and just maneuvering to the barn to feed the horses. Although I didn't do anything, Bruce took care of the outside chores while I did cooking and sewing and laundry. A very fair trade I thought!
Right now they are talking about 18-20" which may start with rain tonight and then tomorrow ~ lets just say with 50 mph winds predicted ~ we may not see another soul for quite some time! Drifts out here in the boonies can be monstrous and our township only has one snowplow - but he is a hard worker and sometimes works 24/7. I do feel bad for anyone working outside - but let me tell you - the farmers and ranchers have their work cut out for them getting to the cattle and checking the calves. Thank the Lord that all ours calved in October. Anyways, here is a few of the pictures I took of the farm....
The snow melted quite a bit today and we did see several roofs down on the way to Mulvane today. We are indeed thankful for the moisture, but we need prayers for all the people working outside and all the emergency personnel standing by for our safety.
Here we go ~ Round 2!

The trash barrel has snow half way up.... yikes!
A drift is pretty high on the horses barn door.

Konnor ~ Happy Birthday ~ 3 years old!
Its hard to believe the baby in our family is now three years old. He has been such a joy to us with his heart stopping grin to his "I don't want that" verbal expression.... what a precious boy! And I will say - he is all boy! Loves his tools, his tractors, dirt and just to play with all his boy stuff. Thought I had better get these pictures up of his party before Katie's on Sunday. Quite the birthday extravaganza for us since they all started in December. But we enjoy it as much as they do!
That smile will melt your heart!
The Thomas the Train party group.....
Jazzy strapped in the stroller for a fun party!
Sunday, we'll party with Katie who is turning 5 years old.

Blessings......
A couple of weeks ago, I was headed to the kitchen for another cup of coffee when I noticed the sunrise... SPECTACULAR! The colors our Creator supplies for our enjoyment is totally amazing - look around and enjoy our Many, Many, Many, Blessings! and give Thanks to HIM!
Sunrise at the Papon Farm~
A blessing that I didn't have a heart attack watching Bruce clean out our chimney....
And another year older for Kelton with Papa and Daddy.
Konnor ready to go play with Braylee and where is Katie?
Somehow she missed my quick camera lens. I'll get her next time!
